I grew up in Co Wicklow, Ireland & started taking photographs when I was 10, with an old SLR camera that my Dad gave me. At the age of 14, I received my first National Geographic and ever since it has been my dream to work as a photographer. Two or more decades later! three children, several continents and tens of thousands of photos, I am now living my dream and passion as a photographer in rural Perthshire, Scotland.
I shoot portraits, architecture, interiors, fashion & product photography and documentary style weddings in both black&white & colour imagery. I seek constantly to capture what is natural in my subjects through my relaxed, unobtrusive and professional approach. I am fully insured and a member of the SWPP (Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers).
I love connecting with people, watching them, making them smile, and capturing their personalities in a way in which they might never have seen themselves before. Children are one of my favorite subjects because of their energy, emotions, innocence and imagination. I constantly look for unique & special moments, natural & genuine expressions & intimate relationships between family & friends, capturing images which are timeless and irreplaceable.
As an artist, it’s my job to see the world differently. I’m always looking for interesting angles, using shapes and available light. I am passionate about art & architecture; interiors & design; the human form & expression, and strive to encapsulate a moment in time in a distinctive and creative manner.
To me photography is art. A record of a moment, a thought, a memory in your life. My aim is to capture this and more……..
“In every photographer there is a painter, a true artist, awaiting expression.” – Pablo Picasso
